A British-born American, Ford lived and worked in Paris, New York City, and San Francisco before ultimately settling in the hills of Inverness, CA. A member of the Surrealist group he greatly influenced artists in New York City through his lectures and the organization of Surrealist shows. His paintings of complex patterns with strange over-lapping units exemplify his interests in the relationship between art and conciousness, an invisible realm he referred to as the “inner-worlds.”
