An important figure to Southern abstract art, Creecy lived and worked in Georgia where he taught at the Atlanta College of Art and the University of Georgia. His large expressionistic works are painted with exuberant gestures of multi-colored layers and squiggles that often reference either landscape, nature, current events, or feelings.
